Backup and restore your entire PC or just selected applications and files with our “TopTenREVIEWS Bronze Award” winner—Acronis True Image.

Acronis’ current version provides backup for individual email, music, videos and photo file types.

You can burn your backups to CDs and then erase them after your system is restored. You can search for specific backup files similar to searching in Windows Explorer and for additional security, you can use your FTP program to safely load your backup copies to your server or hosted server.

Let me tell you I dug long and hard trying to find some negative feedback on Acronis True Image, how ever there really wasn’t anything worth mentioning other then a few users thought the green progress bar that tells you how far along your back is isn’t really relevant.

Installing Acronis is straight forward, not glitches there on XP or Vista.

Creating backups is as easy or as complex as you want it to be. You can start it right out of the box as a point and click backup utility, or customize how and what you backup to your hearts content.

Storing your backups is versatile, and a nice feature that no other program offered was Acronis Secure Zone. This feature created a separate hidden partition on your hard drive to store your backups to. This was an ideal feature for anyone using a Tablet PC or notebook without the ability to save a backup on some form of media.

There were comments of quite a few consumers who were using Acronis True Image to keep a backup of their system rather then system restore which is built into Windows. Also the Try and Decide feature allowed users to test things out before making them permanent.

All in all, though, this is a powerful and easy to use tool for protecting your system.
